In general, cable is not designed for outdoor use and will deteriorate quickly in outdoor conditions, For this reason, cable is often placed in a conduit or some form of protection. But the conduits are generally expensive and time consuming to install and re-install. It’s just easier, less time consuming, and less expensive to purchase outdoor cable. We carry various types of cables for different applications, and all of our outdoor cable meets and exceeds industry standards.

As stated above, we manufacture many different types of outdoor cable for different applications. For direct burial cable, we offer gel-filled (also called flooded) cable. A similar solution is our cable with water-tape. Both of these types of direct burial cable work to protect your cable from moisture. You also may want cable made to handle harsh temperatures. All of our outdoor cable is made with a UV-rated jacket that is made to withstand hot and cold temps. For aerial applications, choose the outdoor cable with the messenger wire. The messenger wire works to support the cable when it is hung from, say, an electrical post to a house.

It is also worth mentioning that with each type of outdoor cable, shielding is a possibility. Shielding protects the cable against electromagnetic interference (EMI). There are two types of shielding, foiled and braided. Foiled provides 100% coverage. Braiding, while not 100% coverage, is easier to work with.
